Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 1.69% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA), which rose 4.75% or 8.020 points to trade at 176.740 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 4.69% or 4.050 points to end at 90.360 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) was up 4.63% or 7.500 points to 169.630 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 0.79% or 0.150 points to trade at 18.770 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 0.73% or 0.220 points to end at 29.940 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was down 0.55% or 0.16 points to 28.78.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 137 to 119 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 1.07% or 12.95 to $1217.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.71% or 0.38 to hit $52.84 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $55.39 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.02% to 21.3862, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 23.0265.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.81% at 99.95.
