Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Telecoms Services and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 4.91% or 1.520 points to trade at 32.500 at the close. Meanwhile, VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) added 1.78% or 0.46 points to end at 26.36 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 1.51% or 2.22 points to 149.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which fell 5.13% or 1.260 points to trade at 23.290 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 1.41% or 0.430 points to end at 30.120 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was down 1.23% or 0.390 points to 31.400.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 192 to 85 and 3 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.97% or 12.60 to $1281.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 3.55% or 1.86 to hit $50.55 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 3.39% or 1.86 to trade at $53.03 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.41% to 18.8531, while EUR/MXN rose 1.25% to 20.2022.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 99.67.
