Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC), which rose 3.02% or 3.96 points to trade at 135.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 2.40% or 10.47 points to end at 446.90 and America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) was up 2.05% or 0.320 points to 15.920 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which fell 4.95% or 1.290 points to trade at 24.790 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 2.40% or 0.620 points to end at 25.260 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) was down 2.25% or 0.830 points to 36.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 118 to 97 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.05% or 0.320 to 15.920.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.78% or 9.79 to $1269.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.49% or 0.73 to hit $49.77 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.16% or 1.11 to trade at $52.60 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.17% to 17.7574, while EUR/MXN rose 0.83% to 20.8702.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 93.16.
