Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Metals, Real Estate and Auto sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 0.26%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Tech Mahindra Limited (NS:TEML), which rose 4.82% or 19.95 points to trade at 434.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto Limited (NS:BAJA) added 3.35% or 92.50 points to end at 2854.00 and Tata Motors DV Ltd (NS:TAMdv) was up 3.10% or 10.50 points to 349.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ICICI Bank Ltd . (NS:ICBK), which fell 2.50% or 7.10 points to trade at 277.20 at the close. Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH) declined 2.29% or 561.85 points to end at 23930.00 and Bharti Infratel Limited (NS:BHRI) was down 2.25% or 7.950 points to 345.800.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Auto Limited (BO:BAJA) which rose 3.35% to 2856.90, Tata Motors Ltd. (BO:TAMO) which was up 2.68% to settle at 535.85 and Coal India Limited (BO:COAL) which gained 2.33% to close at 324.40.
The worst performers were ICICI Bank Ltd. (BO:ICBK) which was down 2.41% to 277.10 in late trade, Cipla Ltd. (BO:CIPL) which lost 1.74% to settle at 574.45 and Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which was down 1.51% to 1070.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 886 to 602 and 69 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1527 rose and 1067 declined, while 272 ended unchanged.
The India Vix, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 4.03% to 14.6525.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.85 to $1267.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.84% or 0.42 to hit $49.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.33 to trade at $50.14 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.11% to 66.802, while EUR/INR rose 0.13% to 72.9670.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 98.78.
