Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 2.41%, while the MDAX index gained 2.36%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.30%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which rose 3.74% or 4.500 points to trade at 124.850 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) added 3.49% or 0.580 points to end at 17.200 and Henkel AG & Co Kgaa Vzo (DE:HNKG_p) was up 3.24% or 3.300 points to 105.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG NA O.N. (DE:ADSGN), which rose 0.77% or 0.660 points to trade at 86.480 at the close. Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) added 1.00% or 1.800 points to end at 182.500 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) was up 1.17% or 0.120 points to 10.390.
The top performers on the MDAX were Metro AG ST O.N. (DE:MEOG) which rose 5.27% to 28.890, Deutsche Euroshop AG O.N. (DE:DEQGn) which was up 4.36% to settle at 40.105 and Hannover Rueckversicherung SE (DE:HNRGn) which gained 4.33% to close at 108.450.
The worst performers were Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (DE:SZUG) which was down 1.42% to 18.425 in late trade, Osram Licht (DE:OSRn) which lost 0.65% to settle at 38.585 and Gerry Weber Internat.O.N. (DE:GWIG) which was up 0.04% to 14.015 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which rose 7.63% to 7.770, Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which was up 6.94% to settle at 7.317 and Qiagen NV (DE:QGEN) which gained 4.77% to close at 24.800.
The worst performers were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was down 4.53% to 35.285 in late trade, Kontron AG O.N. (DE:KBCG) which lost 2.09% to settle at 3.187 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 0.52% to 44.265 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 568 to 130 and 31 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hannover Rueckversicherung SE (DE:HNRGn) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.33% or 4.500 to 108.450.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 6.23% to 20.62.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.50% or 16.30 to $1067.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.80% or 0.75 to hit $40.99 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.40% or 0.62 to trade at $43.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.51% to 1.0633, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.6988.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 99.81.
