Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.70%, while the MDAX index gained 0.13%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were K & S AG NA O.N. (XETRA:SDFGn), which rose 4.14% or 1.340 points to trade at 33.670 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayer AG NA (XETRA:BAYGN) added 1.53% or 1.800 points to end at 119.500 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (XETRA:TKAG) was up 1.51% or 0.275 points to 18.515 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Merck KGAA O.N. (XETRA:MRCG), which fell 0.73% or 0.610 points to trade at 83.100 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG) declined 0.20% or 0.025 points to end at 12.570 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (XETRA:DPWGn) was up 0.08% or 0.020 points to 24.205.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kuka AG (XETRA:KU2G) which rose 2.20% to 73.280, RTL Group SA (XETRA:RRTL) which was up 1.26% to settle at 78.590 and Aurubis AG (XETRA:NAFG) which gained 0.97% to close at 58.420.
The worst performers were Wincor Nixdorf O.N. (XETRA:WING) which was down 2.78% to 36.015 in late trade, Evonik Industries AG (XETRA:EVKn) which lost 1.70% to settle at 31.140 and Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (XETRA:SZUG) which was down 0.92% to 12.915 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Cancom SE O.N. (XETRA:COKG) which rose 6.21% to 30.935, LPKF Laser & Electronics (XETRA:LPKG) which was up 2.99% to settle at 8.342 and BB Biotech AG (XETRA:BIONn) which gained 1.98% to close at 267.800.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (XETRA:AFXG) which was down 2.79% to 23.180 in late trade, PSI AG F.Pr.U.Sys. NA (XETRA:PSAGn) which lost 2.62% to settle at 11.720 and Software AG O.N. (XETRA:SOWG) which was down 2.27% to 24.495 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 385 to 276 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG) fell to all time lows; losing 0.20% or 0.025 to 12.570.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 13.49% to 29.37.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.34% or 3.80 to $1117.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.54% or 1.63 to hit $44.42 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 3.60% or 1.78 to trade at $47.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1171, while EUR/GBP fell 0.56% to 0.7307.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 96.14.
