Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.19%, while the MDAX index added 0.58%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.20%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which rose 2.54% or 0.430 points to trade at 17.355 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) added 2.25% or 3.46 points to end at 157.00 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was up 2.09% or 0.460 points to 22.440 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn), which fell 6.24% or 1.875 points to trade at 28.175 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) declined 1.06% or 1.150 points to end at 107.050 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was down 0.95% or 0.36 points to 37.34.
The top performers on the MDAX were Rational AG (BS:RAAd) which rose 3.94% to 530.00, Innogy SE (DE:IGY) which was up 2.57% to settle at 34.360 and Metro AG (DE:MEOG) which gained 2.41% to close at 10.845.
The worst performers were Evonik Industries AG (DE:EVKn) which was down 4.72% to 28.650 in late trade, Steinhoff International Holdings NV (DE:SNHG) which unchanged 0.93% to settle at 0.30 and STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N. (DE:STAGn) which was down 0.51% to 86.280 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which rose 7.59% to 31.200, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 4.97% to settle at 126.700 and GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which gained 3.65% to close at 13.910.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 2.48% to 15.740 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which lost 2.05% to settle at 44.000 and Xing AG (DE:OBCGn) which was down 2.02% to 242.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 453 to 264 and 77 ended unchanged.
Shares in RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) rose to all time highs; up 7.59% or 2.200 to 31.200.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.56% to 19.92.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.26% or 16.60 to $1336.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.38% or 0.24 to hit $62.33 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $65.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.2402, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.8939.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 89.60.
