Germany stocks higher at close of trade

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Software, Telecom and Construction sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.38%, while the MDAX index added 0.47%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.62%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were SAP AG O.N. (XETRA:SAPG), which rose 4.62% or 2.520 points to trade at 57.050 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (XETRA:FREG) added 3.31% or 1.440 points to end at 44.995 and Continental AG O.N. (XETRA:CONG) was up 2.80% or 4.800 points to 176.050 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG), which fell 2.61% or 0.620 points to trade at 23.100 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (XETRA:CBKG) declined 1.13% or 0.120 points to end at 10.500 and Adidas AG NA O.N. (XETRA:ADSGN) was down 0.40% or 0.230 points to 56.590.

The top performers on the MDAX were Tag Immobilien AG (XETRA:TEGG) which rose 3.29% to 10.365, Duerr AG O.N. (XETRA:DUEG) which was up 3.03% to settle at 74.490 and Norma Group AG NA O.N. (XETRA:NOEJ) which gained 2.61% to close at 40.430.
The worst performers were Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (XETRA:SZUG) which was down 3.75% to 11.160 in late trade, Salzgitter AG O.N. (XETRA:SZGG) which lost 2.65% to settle at 22.070 and Aareal Bank AG (XETRA:ARLG) which was down 2.43% to 31.335 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (XETRA:PV) which rose 6.34% to 74.350, Software AG O.N. (XETRA:SOWG) which was up 3.32% to settle at 21.175 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (XETRA:COPMa) which gained 2.04% to close at 20.460.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE NA O.N. (XETRA:AIXGn) which was down 3.08% to 8.221 in late trade, Dialog Semiconductor (XETRA:DLGS) which lost 1.74% to settle at 31.320 and Stratec Biomedical (XETRA:SBSG) which was down 0.85% to 47.010 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 460 to 265 and 19 ended unchanged.

Shares in RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG) fell to 52 weeks lows; down 2.61% or 0.620 to 23.100.
Shares in Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (XETRA:FREG) rose to 52 weeks highs; rising 3.31% or 1.440 to 44.995.
Shares in Tag Immobilien AG (XETRA:TEGG) rose to 3 years highs; up 3.29% or 0.330 to 10.365.
Shares in Duerr AG O.N. (XETRA:DUEG) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.03% or 2.190 to 74.490.
Shares in Aixtron SE NA O.N. (XETRA:AIXGn) fell to 5 years lows; losing 3.08% or 0.261 to 8.221.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 9.81% to 23.18.

Gold for February delivery was up 1.07% or 13.00 to $1229.10 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February fell 3.91% or 1.89 to hit $46.47 a barrel, while the March brent oil contract fell 4.59% or 2.35 to trade at $48.95 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1823, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.7794.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 92.27.
