Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Household Goods, Industrial Transportation and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.90%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which rose 3.80% or 3.77 points to trade at 102.90 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 3.70% or 0.19 points to end at 5.25 and Technip (PA:TECF) was up 3.62% or 1.65 points to 47.28 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vivendi SA (PA:VIV), which fell 1.09% or 0.24 points to trade at 22.14 at the close. Safran SA (PA:SAF) declined 0.79% or 0.54 points to end at 68.11 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA (PA:LVMH) was down 0.47% or 0.80 points to 167.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SEB SA (PA:SEBF) which rose 7.50% to 93.85, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was up 7.29% to settle at 10.32 and CGG (PA:GEPH) which gained 6.01% to close at 3.79.
The worst performers were Numericable Pr (PA:NUME) which was down 3.92% to 42.000 in late trade, Alten (PA:LTEN) which lost 2.16% to settle at 47.19 and Innate Pharma (PA:IPH) which was down 1.69% to 12.830 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 432 to 288 and 58 ended unchanged.
Shares in SEB SA (PA:SEBF) rose to all time highs; gaining 7.50% or 6.55 to 93.85.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.12% to 20.22.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.87% or 10.20 to $1176.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 5.93% or 2.56 to hit $45.76 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 4.77% or 2.23 to trade at $49.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1081, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.7229.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 96.60.
