Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Household Goods, Banking and Aerospace & Defense sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.36%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were BNP Paribas Act. A (PARIS:BNPP), which rose 4.35% or 2.42 points to trade at 58.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Alcatel-Lucent (PARIS:ALUA) added 2.76% or 0.105 points to end at 3.905 and Credit Agricole (PARIS:CAGR) was up 1.97% or 0.265 points to 13.690 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering (PARIS:PRTP), which fell 3.88% or 6.90 points to trade at 171.10 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA (PARIS:LVMH) declined 1.98% or 3.25 points to end at 160.85 and Technip (PARIS:TECF) was down 1.51% or 0.98 points to 63.99.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were BIC (PARIS:BICP) which rose 8.14% to 152.05, Zodiac Aerospace (PARIS:ZODC) which was up 7.15% to settle at 33.20 and BNP Paribas Act. A (PARIS:BNPP) which gained 4.35% to close at 58.01.
The worst performers were Genfit (PARIS:GNFT) which was down 8.30% to 40.670 in late trade, Kering (PARIS:PRTP) which lost 3.88% to settle at 171.10 and Vallourec (PARIS:VLLP) which was down 3.83% to 24.22 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 522 to 367 and 57 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 4.65% to 21.59.
Gold for June delivery was down 1.25% or 15.00 to $1188.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.42% or 0.24 to hit $56.37 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.22% or 0.76 to trade at $62.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.0720, while EUR/GBP fell 0.76% to 0.7137.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 98.28.
