Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.76% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 3.41% or 0.140 points to trade at 4.240 at the close. Meanwhile, Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 2.29% or 0.1250 points to end at 5.5900 and Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) was up 1.96% or 0.100 points to 5.190 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which fell 0.72% or 0.27 points to trade at 37.19 at the close. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) declined 0.65% or 0.26 points to end at 39.95 and Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) was down 0.63% or 0.09 points to 14.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 116 to 52 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.29% or 0.1250 to 5.5900.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.50% or 0.71 to $47.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.38% or 0.62 to hit $45.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.42% or 5.65 to trade at $1348.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1237, while EUR/GBP rose 0.62% to 0.8428.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 94.98.
