Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Consumption sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Oi SA (SA:OIBR4), which rose 5.02% or 0.31 points to trade at 6.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) added 3.50% or 0.55 points to end at 16.28 and Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11) was up 3.19% or 0.58 points to 18.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5), which fell 10.40% or 1.44 points to trade at 12.40 at the close. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) declined 3.58% or 0.74 points to end at 19.95 and PDG Realty SA (SA:PDGR3) was down 3.03% or 0.010 points to 0.320.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 168 to 129 and 6 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.80% to 29.77.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.13% or 1.60 to $1200.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.72% or 1.04 to hit $59.77 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.94% or 1.20 to trade at $127.08 .
USD/BRL was up 1.25% to 3.0976, while EUR/BRL rose 1.11% to 3.5157.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 94.30.
