Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were PDG Realty SA (SA:PDGR3), which rose 6.06% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.350 at the close. Meanwhile, Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) added 3.64% or 0.450 points to end at 12.800 and Tim Participacoes SA (SA:TIMP3) was up 2.96% or 0.30 points to 10.44 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais (SA:CMIG4), which fell 8.09% or 1.06 points to trade at 12.04 at the close. Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4) declined 4.30% or 0.34 points to end at 7.56 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) was down 3.51% or 0.20 points to 5.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 182 to 123 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.30% or 0.34 to 7.56.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.85% to 27.63 a new 6-months low.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.20% or 2.40 to $1174.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.20% or 0.73 to hit $60.27 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 3.95% or 5.10 to trade at $134.35 .
USD/BRL was up 0.78% to 3.1023, while EUR/BRL rose 1.12% to 3.4745.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 95.44.
