Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Transport, Finance & Investment and Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Telecoms and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.31%, while the ADX General index declined 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 3.10% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.665 at the close. Meanwhile, National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) added 2.74% or 0.040 points to end at 1.500 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) was up 2.07% or 0.030 points to 1.480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 2.64% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.950 at the close. ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) declined 1.25% or 0.050 points to end at 3.950 and Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) was down 1.18% or 0.100 points to 8.350.
The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which rose 4.08% to 0.510, National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was up 2.17% to settle at 4.700 and Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which gained 1.98% to close at 5.15.
The worst performers were Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was down 3.73% to 6.45 in late trade, Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which lost 3.33% to settle at 0.8700 and Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 2.35% to 0.8300 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 19 to 13 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 10 fell and 8 advanced, while 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.73% or 0.25 to 6.45.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.58% or 0.25 to $43.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.37% or 0.17 to hit $45.56 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.14% or 1.85 to trade at $1339.45 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.01% to 3.6728, while EUR/AED fell 0.02% to 4.0718.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 96.32.
