Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Consumer Staples and Insurance sectors led shares higher while losses in the Finance & Investment, Telecoms and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.09%, while the ADX General index fell 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which rose 5.17% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.830 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) added 4.48% or 0.120 points to end at 2.800 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was up 2.50% or 0.030 points to 1.230 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which fell 1.59% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.240 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) declined 1.57% or 0.008 points to end at 0.500 and Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) was down 1.08% or 0.005 points to 0.460.
The top performers on the ADX General were Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which rose 15.00% to 0.9200, Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was up 5.29% to settle at 2.190 and Methaq (AD:METH) which gained 3.95% to close at 0.790.
The worst performers were Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 7.22% to 0.9000 in late trade, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which lost 1.89% to settle at 0.520 and Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which was down 1.00% to 5.93 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 19 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 rose and 8 declined, while 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.50% or 0.030 to 1.230. Shares in Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) rose to 52-week highs; rising 15.00% or 0.1200 to 0.9200.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.66% or 0.73 to $44.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.36% or 0.62 to hit $46.20 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.29% or 16.85 to trade at $1287.65 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.64% to 4.0645.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.71% at 97.63.
