Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Sunday, as gains in the Insurance, Consumer Staples and Banking sectors led shares higher while losses in the Transport, Finance & Investment and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 1.50%, while the ADX General index added 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to trade at 3.500 at the close. Meanwhile, National General Insurance Co PSC (DU:NGIN) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 3.80 and Dubai National Insurance (DU:DNIN) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 2.620 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 4.76% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.400 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) declined 4.43% or 0.027 points to end at 0.582 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) was down 4.01% or 0.016 points to 0.383.
The top performers on the ADX General were Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which rose 3.92% to 1.59, Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was up 2.82% to settle at 3.65 and Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which gained 1.96% to close at 0.520.
The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 9.71% to 3.16 in late trade, Methaq (AD:METH) which lost 9.26% to settle at 0.980 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 3.57% to 0.540 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 27 to 0; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 11 rose and 9 declined, while 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dubai National Insurance (DU:DNIN) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 2.620.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.50% or 1.15 to $44.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $49.04 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.23% or 2.50 to trade at $1106.80 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6728, while EUR/AED rose 0.55% to 4.1655.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 95.38.
