Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Services, Banking and Telecoms sectors led shares higher while losses in the Transport, Insurance and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.93% to hit a new 3-months low, while the ADX General index gained 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which rose 3.90% or 3.00 points to trade at 80.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) added 0.88% or 0.010 points to end at 1.140 and Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) was up 0.42% or 0.010 points to 2.390 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA), which fell 10.00% or 0.052 points to trade at 0.468 at the close. Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) declined 6.72% or 0.080 points to end at 1.110 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) was down 6.47% or 0.09 points to 1.30.
The top performers on the ADX General were Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which rose 2.73% to 1.1300, First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which was up 1.66% to settle at 12.25 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 1.39% to close at 0.730.
The worst performers were Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 5.81% to 0.810 in late trade, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which lost 5.26% to settle at 0.7200 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 2.54% to 1.92 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 24 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 fell and 6 advanced, while 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) fell to 3-years lows; losing 6.72% or 0.080 to 1.110. Shares in Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.73% or 0.0300 to 1.1300.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.62% or 0.30 to $48.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.74% or 0.38 to hit $51.73 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.45 to trade at $1203.55 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED fell 0.21% to 3.9048.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 101.45.
