Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Real Estate & Construction and Insurance sectors led shares higher while losses in the Transport, Finance & Investment and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.73%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which rose 4.92% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.280 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) added 4.17% or 0.025 points to end at 0.625 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) was up 2.08% or 0.07 points to 3.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which fell 7.22% or 0.035 points to trade at 0.450 at the close. Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB) declined 4.27% or 5.00 points to end at 112.00 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) was down 3.14% or 0.015 points to 0.462.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 13.27% to 3.50, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 3.66% to settle at 0.850 and Waha Capital (AD:WAHA) which gained 3.64% to close at 2.28.
The worst performers were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which was down 10.00% to 3.51 in late trade, Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which lost 3.75% to settle at 1.54 and Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 3.06% to 0.95 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 17 to 9 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 11 fell and 10 advanced, while 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) fell to 3-years lows; losing 7.22% or 0.035 to 0.450. Shares in Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) fell to all time lows; falling 10.00% or 0.39 to 3.51.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.30% or 1.04 to $44.18 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.65% or 1.32 to hit $48.73 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.59% or 6.70 to trade at $1127.30 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.39% to 4.1228.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 95.95.
