Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Consumer Staples and Telecoms sectors led shares higher while losses in the Transport, Finance & Investment and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.09%, while the ADX General index gained 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 2.62% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.549 at the close. Meanwhile, National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) added 2.48% or 0.030 points to end at 1.240 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was up 1.28% or 0.010 points to 0.794 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 5.88% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.700 at the close. Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) declined 2.33% or 0.210 points to end at 8.800 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) was down 1.91% or 0.009 points to 0.463.
The top performers on the ADX General were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which rose 3.03% to 0.340, Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which was up 1.80% to settle at 7.90 and Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which gained 1.69% to close at 0.600.
The worst performers were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 3.30% to 0.88 in late trade, Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which lost 2.78% to settle at 3.50 and National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was down 2.60% to 4.87 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 15 to 12; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 11 fell and 10 advanced, while 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.07% or 0.99 to $46.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 2.45% or 1.24 to hit $49.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.63% or 7.50 to trade at $1175.60 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.02% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED fell 0.17% to 4.1630.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 94.91.
