Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Insurance and Banking sectors led shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Finance & Investment and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.09%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 11.46% or 0.083 points to trade at 0.807 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) added 3.26% or 0.060 points to end at 1.900 and Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) was up 1.67% or 0.020 points to 1.220 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which fell 3.00% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.940 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 2.05% or 0.018 points to end at 0.862 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was down 1.89% or 0.050 points to 2.590.
The top performers on the ADX General were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which rose 4.65% to 0.450, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was up 4.08% to settle at 0.510 and Ad Islamic Bk (AD:ADIB) which gained 1.95% to close at 5.23.
The worst performers were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 9.09% to 1.50 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 5.43% to settle at 2.61 and Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was down 5.41% to 0.700 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 15 to 11 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 rose and 11 declined, while 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) fell to 52-week lows; falling 9.09% or 0.15 to 1.50.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.41% or 0.23 to $57.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.95% or 0.59 to hit $62.60 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.68% or 7.90 to trade at $1161.40 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED rose 0.19% to 4.0672.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 96.45.
