United Arab Emirates stocks mixed at close of trade; DFM General down 0.05%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Sunday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Telecoms and Finance & Investment sectors led shares higher while losses in the Services, Insurance and Transport sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.05%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.48%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA), which rose 2.54% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.210 at the close. Meanwhile, Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) added 1.90% or 0.100 points to end at 5.360 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) was up 1.02% or 0.020 points to 1.990 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 7.69% or 0.150 points to trade at 1.800 at the close. National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC) declined 2.44% or 0.100 points to end at 4.000 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) was down 1.54% or 0.02 points to 1.28.

The top performers on the ADX General were Methaq (AD:METH) which rose 8.70% to 0.750, Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was up 7.46% to settle at 0.720 and Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which gained 6.71% to close at 3.50.

The worst performers were Waha Capital (AD:WAHA) which was down 1.21% to 2.45 in late trade, Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which lost 1.10% to settle at 7.21 and Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which was down 0.97% to 1.03 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 15 to 12 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 14 rose and 5 declined, while 4 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.06% or 0.03 to $52.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $59.00 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.29% or 3.40 to trade at $1162.60 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 1.13% to 4.1000.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.73% at 95.96.
