United Arab Emirates stocks lower at close of trade; DFM General down 1.28%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Sunday, as losses in the Real Estate & Construction, Banking and Insurance sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 1.28%, while the ADX General index declined 0.82%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 3.74% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.110 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) added 3.15% or 0.040 points to end at 1.310 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 1.18% or 0.040 points to 3.440 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which fell 7.52% or 6.10 points to trade at 75.00 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) declined 7.09% or 0.09 points to end at 1.18 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was down 3.07% or 0.050 points to 1.580.

The top performers on the ADX General were Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which rose 2.15% to 0.95, Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which was up 1.85% to settle at 2.20 and Emirates Ins C (AD:EIC) which unchanged 0.00% to close at 6.72.

The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was down 8.00% to 0.460 in late trade, Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which lost 3.49% to settle at 0.8300 and Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which was down 3.45% to 2.80 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 21 to 7 and 6 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 17 fell and 4 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged.

Shares in Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.74% or 0.040 to 1.110. Shares in Emirates Ins C (AD:EIC) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 6.72.

Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $46.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.80% or 0.38 to hit $47.39 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 2.27% or 28.80 to trade at $1295.20 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED rose 0.86% to 4.2073.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.76% at 93.02.
