Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Services and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 1.27% to hit a new 1-month low, while the ADX General index fell 1.31%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 2.07% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.970 at the close. Meanwhile, Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) added 0.70% or 0.010 points to end at 1.430 and Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA) was up 0.33% or 0.01 points to 3.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which fell 7.49% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.494 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 4.00% or 0.030 points to end at 0.720 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) was down 3.26% or 0.020 points to 0.594.
The top performers on the ADX General were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which rose 3.23% to 0.320, Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which was up 1.72% to settle at 0.580 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 1.54% to close at 7.89.
The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 5.39% to 2.81 in late trade, Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which lost 4.66% to settle at 2.25 and Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 4.44% to 0.86 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 21 to 4; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 19 fell and 5 advanced, while 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.43% or 0.19 to $44.79 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.25% or 0.12 to hit $48.11 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.39% or 4.50 to trade at $1167.30 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.12% to 4.0524.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 97.02.
