Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Consumer Staples and Transport sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.47%, while the ADX General index added 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 7.50% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.720 at the close. Meanwhile, Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) added 4.26% or 0.020 points to end at 0.490 and Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) was up 3.39% or 0.040 points to 1.220 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD), which fell 9.86% or 0.700 points to trade at 6.400 at the close. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) declined 5.07% or 0.070 points to end at 1.310 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) was down 1.77% or 0.009 points to 0.500.
The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 2.38% to 0.430, Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) which was up 2.30% to settle at 15.60 and Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which gained 1.82% to close at 2.80.
The worst performers were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 9.68% to 1.40 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 7.64% to settle at 2.88 and Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which was down 4.76% to 2.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 17 to 10 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 14 fell and 13 advanced.
Shares in Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.07% or 0.070 to 1.310. Shares in Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.68% or 0.15 to 1.40. Shares in Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.76% or 0.10 to 2.00.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.10% or 0.48 to $43.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $47.92 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1087.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.03% to 3.9400.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 99.20.
