United Arab Emirates stocks higher at close of trade; DFM General up 0.39%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Real Estate & Construction and Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.39%, while the ADX General index gained 0.63%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which rose 3.85% or 0.025 points to trade at 0.675 at the close. Meanwhile, Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 3.08% or 0.04 points to end at 1.30 and Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB) was up 2.28% or 0.170 points to 7.630 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which fell 6.67% or 8.00 points to trade at 112.00 at the close. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) declined 3.58% or 0.016 points to end at 0.431 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was down 2.67% or 0.017 points to 0.620.

The top performers on the ADX General were Em Driving Co (AD:DRIV) which rose 8.70% to 6.00, Methaq (AD:METH) which was up 7.89% to settle at 1.230 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which gained 5.56% to close at 0.380.

The worst performers were Natl Co Bldg M (AD:BILD) which was down 7.69% to 0.600 in late trade, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which lost 5.78% to settle at 6.20 and Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 4.08% to 0.94 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 14 to 13 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 15 rose and 7 declined, while 3 ended unchanged.

Shares in Natl Co Bldg M (AD:BILD) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.69% or 0.050 to 0.600.

Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.44% or 1.15 to $45.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 3.30% or 1.73 to hit $50.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.39% or 4.30 to trade at $1090.80 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.12% to 4.0293.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 97.46.
