Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Services and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.34%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 7.69% or 0.200 points to trade at 2.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 3.51% or 0.04 points to end at 1.18 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was up 2.82% or 0.023 points to 0.840 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC), which fell 3.37% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.545 at the close. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) declined 1.96% or 0.030 points to end at 1.500 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) was down 1.27% or 0.020 points to 1.560.
The top performers on the ADX General were Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which rose 5.56% to 1.330, Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was up 1.85% to settle at 6.05 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which gained 1.82% to close at 0.560.
The worst performers were Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which was down 1.99% to 6.41 in late trade, Methaq (AD:METH) which lost 1.12% to settle at 0.880 and Ad Islamic Bk (AD:ADIB) which was down 1.06% to 3.750 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 19 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 rose and 8 declined, while 7 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.41% or 0.19 to $46.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.45% or 0.22 to hit $48.83 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.17% or 2.25 to trade at $1327.45 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.21% to 4.1469.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 94.64.
