Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Real Estate & Construction and Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.04%, while the ADX General index gained 0.20%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 5.67% or 0.044 points to trade at 0.820 at the close. Meanwhile, Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 4.42% or 0.05 points to end at 1.18 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 1.53% or 0.060 points to 3.990 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD), which fell 5.66% or 0.300 points to trade at 5.000 at the close. Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) declined 2.28% or 0.012 points to end at 0.514 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) was down 1.51% or 0.015 points to 0.980.

The top performers on the ADX General were Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which rose 1.36% to 2.230, Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was up 1.23% to settle at 0.8200 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which gained 1.22% to close at 0.830.

The worst performers were Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was down 5.59% to 1.350 in late trade, Methaq (AD:METH) which lost 2.22% to settle at 0.880 and Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which was down 1.81% to 2.710 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 13 to 12 and 10 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 13 rose and 8 declined, while 5 ended unchanged.

Shares in SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.67% or 0.044 to 0.820.

Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.69% or 0.77 to $46.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.38% or 0.66 to hit $48.64 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.17% or 2.25 to trade at $1351.45 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.01% to 3.6728, while EUR/AED rose 0.47% to 4.1470.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 94.65.
