Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Mobile Telecommunications and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 2.54%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were SABMiller PLC (LONDON:SAB), which rose 1.30% or 46.50 points to trade at 3634.50 at the close. Meanwhile, BAE Systems PLC (LONDON:BAES) added 1.02% or 4.500 points to end at 444.500 and ITV PLC (LONDON:ITV) was up 0.93% or 2.30 points to 250.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Glencore PLC (LONDON:GLEN), which fell 29.42% or 28.6000 points to trade at 68.6200 at the close. Anglo American PLC (LONDON:AAL) declined 10.09% or 62.00 points to end at 552.70 and BHP Billiton PLC (LONDON:BLT) was down 6.03% or 61.90 points to 964.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1659 to 487 and 433 ended unchanged.

Gold for December delivery was down 1.04% or 11.90 to $1133.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.30% or 1.05 to hit $44.65 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.25% or 1.09 to trade at $47.51 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.13% to 1.5198, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.7388.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 96.14.
