Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate Investment Trusts REITs, Industrial Transportation and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.82%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which rose 7.67% or 135.00 points to trade at 1895.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Randgold Resources Ltd (LON:RRS) added 4.39% or 385.00 points to end at 9160.00 and Glencore PLC (LON:GLEN) was up 4.36% or 6.8000 points to 162.7500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were British Land Company PLC (LON:BLND), which fell 7.15% or 43.50 points to trade at 565.00 at the close. Persimmon PLC (LON:PSN) declined 6.82% or 105.00 points to end at 1435.00 and Barratt Developments PLC (LON:BDEV) was down 6.43% or 26.700 points to 388.300.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1447 to 716 and 392 ended unchanged.

Gold for August delivery was up 1.12% or 14.95 to $1353.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $48.92 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.07 to trade at $50.28 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.21% to 1.3294, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.8383.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.62.
