Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Transport, Sports and Tourism sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 7.08%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL), which rose 2.04% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) fell 1.05% or 0.050 points to end at 4.690 and Enka Insaat (IS:ENKAI) was down 1.52% or 0.070 points to 4.550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which fell 20.00% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 19.95% or 2.65 points to end at 10.63 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was down 19.19% or 0.190 points to 0.800.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 396 to 5 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 20.00% or 0.200 to 0.800. Shares in Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) fell to 5-year lows; losing 19.19% or 0.190 to 0.800.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.03% or 0.35 to $1327.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.50% or 0.70 to hit $45.95 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.37% or 0.65 to trade at $46.96 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.43% to 2.9706, while EUR/TRY fell 1.12% to 3.2908.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 96.50.
