Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 2.18%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 4.55% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.220 at the close. Meanwhile, Otokar (IS:OTKAR) added 4.30% or 3.30 points to end at 80.05 and Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) was up 3.94% or 8.50 points to 224.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which fell 19.26% or 4.70 points to trade at 19.70 at the close. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 17.95% or 0.420 points to end at 1.920 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was down 14.61% or 0.320 points to 1.870.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 300 to 99 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.63% or 7.10 to $1139.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 7.91% or 3.89 to hit $45.31 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 8.75% or 4.74 to trade at $49.41 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.34% to 2.9255, while EUR/TRY rose 1.11% to 3.3052.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.52% at 95.46.
