Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate Investments, Textile & Leather and Tourism sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.76%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gozde Girisim (IS:GOZDE), which rose 1.91% or 0.050 points to trade at 2.670 at the close. Meanwhile, Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) added 1.81% or 0.40 points to end at 22.54 and Deva Holding (IS:DEVA) was up 1.61% or 0.060 points to 3.790 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vestel (IS:VESTL), which fell 8.01% or 0.580 points to trade at 6.660 at the close. Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) declined 6.93% or 2.60 points to end at 34.90 and Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS) was down 4.41% or 0.26 points to 5.63.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 281 to 70 and 59 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.47% or 6.10 to $1296.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.66% or 1.22 to hit $44.70 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.19% or 1.51 to trade at $45.86 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.24% to 2.8050, while EUR/TRY rose 0.90% to 3.2312.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 92.65.
