Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Basic Metals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.49%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 4.35% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.230 at the close. Meanwhile, Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) added 2.70% or 0.30 points to end at 11.40 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) was up 1.80% or 0.35 points to 19.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which fell 4.35% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.760 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) declined 3.87% or 0.070 points to end at 1.740 and Migros Ticaret (IS:MGROS) was down 3.30% or 0.55 points to 16.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 318 to 80 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.29% or 3.30 to $1118.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.17% or 1.46 to hit $44.59 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 3.34% or 1.66 to trade at $47.95 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.76% to 3.0335, while EUR/TRY rose 1.12% to 3.3900.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 96.14.
