Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Transport, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Sports sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.40%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which rose 15.67% or 0.420 points to trade at 3.100 at the close. Meanwhile, Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) added 8.40% or 0.210 points to end at 2.710 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) was up 6.55% or 2.55 points to 41.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER), which fell 6.93% or 3.25 points to trade at 43.65 at the close. Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL) declined 5.51% or 1.30 points to end at 22.30 and Tupras (IS:TUPRS) was down 4.65% or 3.20 points to 65.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 284 to 118 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.55% or 2.55 to 41.50.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.32% or 3.90 to $1204.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.95% or 1.74 to hit $60.72 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.47% or 1.60 to trade at $66.64 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.46% to 2.5909, while EUR/TRY rose 0.89% to 2.8866.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 95.35.
