Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Sports sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.15% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Good-Year (IS:GOODY), which rose 7.45% or 9.40 points to trade at 135.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) added 7.38% or 0.51 points to end at 7.42 and Do-Co (IS:DOCO) was up 7.00% or 21.20 points to 324.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which fell 6.43% or 0.25 points to trade at 3.64 at the close. Vakiflar Bankasi (IS:VAKBN) declined 6.21% or 0.270 points to end at 4.080 and Yapi Ve Kredi Bank. (IS:YKBNK) was down 5.58% or 0.220 points to 3.720.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 188 to 149 and 69 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) rose to 3-years highs; rising 7.38% or 0.51 to 7.42.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.32% or 4.05 to $1250.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.18% or 0.09 to hit $48.58 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.04 to trade at $48.77 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.22% to 2.9821, while EUR/TRY fell 0.16% to 3.3438.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 95.41.
