Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Sports and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR), which rose 12.18% or 0.190 points to trade at 1.750 at the close. Meanwhile, Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) added 3.33% or 0.030 points to end at 0.930 and Deva Holding (IS:DEVA) was up 3.13% or 0.120 points to 3.950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which fell 5.44% or 0.84 points to trade at 14.60 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) declined 4.93% or 0.17 points to end at 3.28 and Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) was down 4.79% or 0.35 points to 6.96.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 201 to 121 and 84 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.55% or 6.75 to $1222.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.51% or 0.25 to hit $48.87 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.51 to trade at $49.12 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.26% to 2.9386, while EUR/TRY fell 0.13% to 3.2792.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 95.44.
