Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Wood, Paper & Printing and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS), which rose 3.99% or 0.21 points to trade at 5.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) added 3.08% or 0.16 points to end at 5.35 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 2.31% or 0.110 points to 4.880 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Turk Hava Yollari (IS:THYAO), which fell 6.80% or 0.510 points to trade at 6.990 at the close. Pegasus (IS:PGSUS) declined 6.55% or 1.170 points to end at 16.700 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) was down 6.53% or 1.20 points to 17.18.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 275 to 84 and 52 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1254.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.72% or 0.73 to hit $43.20 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.77% or 0.78 to trade at $44.81 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.65% to 2.8125, while EUR/TRY fell 0.94% to 3.1864.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 94.28.
