Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Tourism sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER), which rose 3.95% or 1.48 points to trade at 38.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) added 3.40% or 0.050 points to end at 1.520 and Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) was up 3.00% or 0.62 points to 21.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR), which fell 4.73% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.410 at the close. Tupras (IS:TUPRS) declined 4.31% or 2.75 points to end at 61.10 and Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) was down 3.93% or 1.00 points to 24.42.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 169 to 152 and 81 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tupras (IS:TUPRS) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.31% or 2.75 to 61.10.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.57% or 7.75 to $1354.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.07% or 0.03 to hit $45.17 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.11 to trade at $46.51 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.26% to 2.8996, while EUR/TRY fell 1.57% to 3.2017.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 96.45.
