Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Metal Products & Machinery and Food & Beverages sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Adel Kalemcilik (IS:ADEL), which rose 4.30% or 0.73 points to trade at 17.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Ayen Enerji (IS:AYEN) added 3.90% or 0.140 points to end at 3.730 and Soda Sanayii (IS:SODA) was up 2.50% or 0.100 points to 4.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN), which fell 5.19% or 11.60 points to trade at 212.00 at the close. Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) declined 4.31% or 0.98 points to end at 21.76 and Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) was down 4.21% or 0.040 points to 0.910.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 189 to 149 and 69 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.19% or 11.60 to 212.00.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.38% or 4.95 to $1311.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.11% or 1.44 to hit $44.91 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.22% or 1.57 to trade at $47.16 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.09% to 2.9602, while EUR/TRY fell 0.02% to 3.3016.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 96.04.
