Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Metals and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 2.53% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which rose 6.45% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.660 at the close. Meanwhile, Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) added 5.75% or 0.99 points to end at 18.20 and Akbank (IS:AKBNK) was up 4.79% or 0.37 points to 8.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL), which fell 3.57% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.540 at the close. Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) declined 1.90% or 0.030 points to end at 1.550 and Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) was down 1.20% or 0.06 points to 4.92.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 258 to 92 and 58 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was up 2.93% or 36.00 to $1265.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 3.38% or 1.30 to hit $39.76 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.16% or 0.87 to trade at $41.20 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.76% to 2.8472, while EUR/TRY rose 0.17% to 3.2272.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.01% at 94.73.
