Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Sports, Electricity and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 2.05%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE), which rose 18.05% or 1.590 points to trade at 10.400 at the close. Meanwhile, Vestel (IS:VESTL) added 14.25% or 0.570 points to end at 4.570 and Teknosa IC Ve Dis Ticaret (IS:TKNSA) was up 9.90% or 0.680 points to 7.550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which fell 2.01% or 0.060 points to trade at 2.920 at the close. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 1.61% or 0.45 points to end at 27.45 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was down 1.61% or 0.040 points to 2.450.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 363 to 40 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.82% or 9.70 to $1187.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.68% or 0.41 to hit $60.55 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.20 to trade at $65.08 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.54% to 2.7382, while EUR/TRY fell 0.41% to 3.0966.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.48% at 94.71.
