Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Sports, Basic Metals and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.65%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which rose 6.08% or 0.32 points to trade at 5.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) added 4.58% or 0.070 points to end at 1.600 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) was up 4.50% or 0.77 points to 17.89 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 4.35% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.220 at the close. Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) declined 1.52% or 0.18 points to end at 11.64 and Aygaz (IS:AYGAZ) was down 1.34% or 0.17 points to 12.53.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 235 to 95 and 82 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.36% or 4.50 to $1242.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 5.82% or 2.17 to hit $39.43 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 5.53% or 2.18 to trade at $41.61 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.40% to 2.8508, while EUR/TRY fell 0.10% to 3.2542.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 94.19.
