Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Banking and Sports sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.21%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS), which rose 6.23% or 0.71 points to trade at 12.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) added 4.98% or 0.270 points to end at 5.690 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 4.39% or 0.170 points to 4.040 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA), which fell 4.07% or 1.56 points to trade at 36.80 at the close. Turkcell (IS:TCELL) declined 2.48% or 0.30 points to end at 11.79 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) was down 2.34% or 0.42 points to 17.55.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 232 to 96 and 82 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.28% or 3.40 to $1220.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.48% or 0.59 to hit $39.20 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.84% or 0.34 to trade at $40.13 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.18% to 2.8803, while EUR/TRY rose 0.23% to 3.2230.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 96.16.
