Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Wood, Paper & Printing and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which rose 7.02% or 0.160 points to trade at 2.440 at the close. Meanwhile, Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) added 5.46% or 14.00 points to end at 270.50 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 4.35% or 0.010 points to 0.240 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Do-Co (IS:DOCO), which fell 4.73% or 13.90 points to trade at 280.10 at the close. Good-Year (IS:GOODY) declined 2.42% or 0.10 points to end at 4.04 and Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) was down 2.04% or 0.010 points to 0.480.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 200 to 122 and 87 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 1.30% or 16.25 to $1263.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.55% or 0.78 to hit $51.14 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.77% or 0.91 to trade at $52.35 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.32% to 2.8881, while EUR/TRY rose 0.02% to 3.2922.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 93.53.
