Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Basic Metals and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.36% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Bim Magazalar (IS:BIMAS), which rose 6.02% or 3.25 points to trade at 57.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Logo Yazilim (IS:LOGO) added 4.76% or 2.140 points to end at 47.140 and Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) was up 3.42% or 0.210 points to 6.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which fell 6.68% or 0.31 points to trade at 4.33 at the close. Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) declined 4.39% or 0.15 points to end at 3.27 and Vestel (IS:VESTL) was down 4.32% or 0.240 points to 5.310.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 206 to 126 and 77 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was up 0.93% or 11.70 to $1269.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.72% or 0.66 to hit $37.63 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.31% or 0.95 to trade at $40.12 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.20% to 2.8979, while EUR/TRY rose 1.64% to 3.2344.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.85% at 96.36.
