Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Sports, Leasing & Factoring and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 7.78% or 1.86 points to trade at 25.78 at the close. Meanwhile, Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) added 4.35% or 0.81 points to end at 19.45 and Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN) was up 3.55% or 0.060 points to 1.750 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN), which fell 6.94% or 0.55 points to trade at 7.37 at the close. Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL) declined 6.24% or 0.82 points to end at 12.33 and Ford Otosan (IS:FROTO) was down 3.35% or 1.06 points to 30.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 168 to 161 and 76 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.24% or 0.82 to 12.33.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.28% or 3.65 to $1323.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.65% or 1.32 to hit $48.56 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.77% or 1.42 to trade at $49.90 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.18% to 2.8855, while EUR/TRY fell 1.03% to 3.1894.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.79% at 96.45.
