Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Electricity and Leasing & Factoring sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.74% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN), which rose 8.58% or 1.31 points to trade at 16.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Anel Elektrik Proje Taahhut ve Ticaret AS (IS:ANELE) added 7.64% or 0.240 points to end at 3.380 and Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN) was up 6.25% or 0.090 points to 1.530 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK), which fell 6.01% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.720 at the close. Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN) declined 2.61% or 0.210 points to end at 7.830 and ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT) was down 2.57% or 0.120 points to 4.550.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 189 to 156 and 62 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) rose to all time highs; gaining 8.58% or 1.31 to 16.57.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1269.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.12% or 0.07 to hit $58.16 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.06 to trade at $64.62 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.12% to 3.8161, while EUR/TRY fell 0.08% to 4.5340.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 92.96.
