Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Glass and Biotech & Medical Care sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Nafco (TW:3004), which rose 9.98% or 4.05 points to trade at 44.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Ching Feng (TW:9935) added 9.95% or 0.95 points to end at 10.50 and Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) was up 8.52% or 0.39 points to 4.97 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tpk Holding (TW:3673), which fell 9.77% or 8.40 points to trade at 77.60 at the close. Aoc (TW:6289) declined 9.26% or 0.10 points to end at 0.98 and Azurewave (TW:3694) was down 9.06% or 1.45 points to 14.55.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 651 to 186 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.64% or 0.28 to $44.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.53% or 0.26 to hit $48.01 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.34% or 3.90 to trade at $1135.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.81% to 32.975, while TWD/CNY rose 0.21% to 0.1950.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 96.18.
