Investing.com – Sweden stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 declined 3.91% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Lundin Petroleum AB (ST:LUPE), which rose 0.25% or 0.30 points to trade at 119.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA) fell 1.22% or 3.5 points to end at 284.3 and AstraZeneca PLC (ST:AZN) was down 1.46% or 7.2 points to 485.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Boliden AB (ST:BOL), which fell 16.00% or 19.60 points to trade at 102.90 at the close. Kinnevik, Investment AB ser. B (ST:KINVBs) declined 7.06% or 14.6 points to end at 192.2 and Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken A (ST:SEBa) was down 6.72% or 5.55 points to 77.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 420 to 130 and 32 ended unchanged.
Shares in Boliden AB (ST:BOL) fell to 52-week lows; falling 16.00% or 19.60 to 102.90. Shares in Kinnevik, Investment AB ser. B (ST:KINVBs) fell to 52-week lows; falling 7.06% or 14.6 to 192.2.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.07% or 0.29 to $27.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.86% or 0.27 to hit $30.57 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 4.92% or 58.80 to trade at $1253.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.26% to 9.4817, while USD/SEK fell 0.35% to 8.3478.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 95.39.
