Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 1.89%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Getinge AB ser. B (ST:GETIBs), which rose 3.82% or 7.6 points to trade at 206.3 at the close. Meanwhile, Lundin Petroleum AB (ST:LUPE) added 3.38% or 4.50 points to end at 137.70 and Volvo, AB ser. B (ST:VOLVb) was up 3.28% or 3.30 points to 103.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ABB Ltd (ST:ABB), which rose 0.29% or 0.5 points to trade at 171.5 at the close. Atlas Copco AB ser. B (ST:ATCOb) added 0.54% or 1.1 points to end at 204.3 and Atlas Copco AB ser. A (ST:ATCOa) was up 0.62% or 1.4 points to 227.1.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 357 to 80 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.52% or 1.30 to $52.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 3.32% or 1.90 to hit $58.95 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.16% or 1.90 to trade at $1161.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.07% to 9.3684, while USD/SEK rose 0.41% to 8.4974.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 96.73.
